Fall 1998 Wedge (Future DO) helps found TAW and is responsible for the creation of the back end of the TAW website.
Oct 2001 Lowflyer (Future DO) joins TAW
24 Jul 2002 The Art Of Warfare - European Division bring in Battlefield 1942
  Division Officer - Lowflyer (Interim)
  At this point in time TAW has divisions for each game in North America only and one division for Europe which is divided by games. Lowflyer was in charge of European Division and was intermin of the Battlefield 1942 European group.
  The Gryphons is created as a squad.
Sep 2002 The Art Of Warfare - Battlefield 1942 Division is created by Task Force Operations (TFO)

Nov 2002 Thunder (Future DO) joins TAW
25 Jan 2003 The first training map is released by the division entitled Parris Island and features a tank range, infantry range, and jeep course with ramps

Feb 2003 Rouge Squad is formed by disaffected x-TAW members (Hunter/pmow)
  TFO merges The Battlefield Division (N.A.) with the Battlefield (group) in Europe and called it The Art of Warfare - Battlefield 1942 Division

Nov 2003 Rhuzyo becomes the youngest Battlefield Officer (age 16) as Executive Officer (NA)
Jan 2004 Armored Fist is invited into CAL Invite
  Bandidos is created as a 10v10 BF42 - Desert Combat squad.
Mar 2004 Battlefield Vietnam is approved by TFO and becomes a game under the division
  The Art of Warfare - Battlefield 1942 Division is renamed to The Art Of Warfare - Battlefield Division

2005 The Smoke Squad is created as a 10v10 BFV Squad
08 Mar 2005 All battalions in the division begin intense training on BF42 - Desert Combat for the release of BF2
  A large exodus occurs due to the new training for BF2. 1st BN is heavily affected.
13 Jun 2005 North America 3rd BN (West Coast) takes on the official name of "Forgotten Pertorians"
14 Jun 2005 North America 4th BN (East Coast) takes on the official name of "Wild Cards"
22 Jun 2005 Battlefield 2 is brought into the Battlefield Division
Jul 2005 2nd Battalion is started for the 1st time to handle the overflow of 3rd and 4th battalion.
01 Jul 05 The Battlefield Division stops support for Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield Vietnam
10 Jul 2005 TFO approves a new structure for 100+ member divisions which creates the position of Division Commander, Staff Officers, and Platoon Leaders.

20 Aug 2005 2nd BN is mothballed and all personnel transferred to 3rd or 4th BN.

  The Battlefield division becomes the 1st division to fill five battalions.

May 2007 Call 2 Arms clan gains members due to disagreement/miscommunication with the TFO.  The split was done with respect to both sides, however we lost our European Battalion and those members chose to depart including Braveheart and others.

BATTLEFIELD DIVISION FUN FACTS
  • The Gryphons are the longest running squad in the battlefield division (3 years 2 months as of Sep 05)
  • Lowflyer is the "oldest" officer still in TAW. (Oldest in terms of TAW years as of 01 Sep 05)
  • TAW BF has had a total of 5 female players (Angelus, KittyPants, Squirrel and Storm since its birth (as of 15 Jan 06)
  • Fox and Jedi have both held the office of Division Officer the most times (twice as of 01 Sep 05)
  • In Nov 2006, the BF division becomes the first battalion to fill 5 battalions.
  • The Battlefield Division has "trained and sent" the most members to the Central Command "division" by sending Audie, Fox, Jedi, JrSunshine, Tomamoko and Theodrak
  • On 09 Oct 07 the when GEN Fox is promoted to ECO-MIL this makes the top 3 positions in TAW to be held by former BF Divisional members: Fox, Jedi and Tomamoko.
  • The Battlefield Division has trained the most CCO members. As of Jan 2007 three former BF members: Audie, Jedi, and Fox have been in CCO. As of Oct 2007 the number is five: Audie, Fox, Jedi, JrSunshine, Tomamoko and Theodrak.
